Ask Your Chief Medical Director: Pride Month
In celebration of Pride Month, Dr. Chugh joined Dr. Hekman and Dr. Ng. Dr. Hekman, MD FACP, is a practicing internal medicine specialist and founding physician of the Center for LGBTQ+ Care at the Lakewood Family Health Center. He serves as a Regional Medical Director for Regional Operations and Cleveland Clinic’s Community Health and Partnerships. Dr. Ng, MD, MPH, FAAP, FACP (he/they) is an internal medicine and pediatrics trained physician and has been working in LGBTQ+ health for 15 years. They serve as the Director for the Center for LGBTQ+ Care and the Transgender Surgery & Medicine Program at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Chugh, Dr. Hekman and Dr. Ng looked at myths and misconceptions toward the 2SLGBTQ+ community, challenges related to stigmatization, and discuss how sex, gender and sexuality intersects to impact both mental and physical health.
